Golden Eagle

Golden eagle populations are now protected, but for many years the birds were killed by government sharpshooters and private contractors as predator control, and were also harmed by egg-thinning related to DDT use. Electrocution on transmission structures, damage from wind turbine blades, and the religious use of feathers continue to be concerns for the golden eagle’s future.
