Alligator Gar

Considered a “trash fish” and nemesis of game fish, alligator gar were netted, electrocuted, and dynamited to remove them from Texas waters. In recent years, the gar has gained glory as a trophy “monster fish”, as well as efforts to reintroduce and protect them.
