Lee Ann Linam worked as a wildlife biologist at J.D. Murphree Wildlife Management Area in the early 1980s, just as alligator populations recovered, and nuisance problems arose. Here she discusses the process of responding to calls, capturing alligators, and relocating them to appropriate areas. As the gator counts grew, the agency contracted with permitted hunters to remove them, either selling the animals to farms, or harvesting them.
