Tom Devitt is an Assistant Professor of Practice at the University of Texas, and a Research Scientist in the Hillis Lab at UT. Earlier, he served as a biologist in the Watershed Protection Department at the City of Austin. In these and other capacities, he has spent many years studying salamanders, including the endangered Barton Springs salamander, which has been of great interest in the central Texas area.
