Rob Sawyer is a petroleum geologist by training and profession, and is based in Sugarland, Texas. He has spent many hours exploring and managing coastal marshes and hunting ducks and geese over the years. He has also written a number of history books about waterfowl, market hunting, and game protection based on research in archives and interviews with guides, hunters, and property owners.
