Nathan Garner is a wildlife biologist based now in Mishawaka, Indiana, but who worked for many years at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department as a regional wildlife director and district wildlife leader. He has extensive experience and interest in the black bear, and was deeply involved in its study and conservation, both at the Department and the East Texas Black Bear Task Force.
