Lyubov Burlakova is a senior research scientist at the Great Lakes Center, a research foundation of SUNY Buffalo State College. She is interested in freshwater benthic communities, and for a number of years was engaged in survey, study and protection of the Texas hornshell mussel, endemic to the Rio Grande basin.
