Mr. Benefield is a fisheries biologist who worked for 35 years for Texas Parks and Wildlife, and later as a consultant for Benchmark Ecological Services. During his career, he was heavily involved with the oyster fishery, monitoring mudshell mining, surveying reefs, building artificial reefs, and managing the private reef lease program.
