Joseph Heiser was an accountant for Texaco. He volunteered in a wide variety of early Texas conservation efforts, helping organize the Nature Conservancy, as well as putting together the Outdoor Nature Club of Houston, and acquiring the Little Thicket Nature Sanctuary near Cleveland, Texas. His oral history records have been kindly shared by the Metropolitan Research Center in Houston.
