Joan Holt, Ph.D., is a professor emerita and former director of the University of Texas Marine Science Institute in Port Aransas, where she was involved in research on captive spawning and rearing of redfish, spotted seatrout, cobia and flounder. She also was engaged in research on Atlantic tarpon, publishing papers and organizing conferences.
