Jim Eidson is the former manager for the Nature Conservancy’s Clymer Meadow. He developed and tested ideas about maintaining and restoring native tallgrass prairies using a variety of tools, including cutting the fields for hay, and setting prescribed burns. American bison was another key management tool for Eidson, in which its selective grazing, hoof action, and control of trees helped moved the succession of the prairie in the right direction.
