Froylan Hernandez has worked as a wildlife biologist with Texas Parks and Wildlife, based in Alpine, Texas, since 2005. He currently serves as its Desert Bighorn Sheep Program leader. He held prior positions at the Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Research Institute, Texas A&M University, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
