Donald Beard is the superintendent for Caprock Canyon State Park, home to the Texas state bison herd. He is also the owner and operator of Caprock Bison Company, which manages a commercial production herd of bison. In that sense, he brings a balanced view of the conservation of buffalo, using both public and private strategies.
